Brins Mesa to Overlook Trail

NOTE: The following summary information is to help with hike selection and is not intended to be used for hiking the trail. For your safety and enjoyment, please obtain a copy of Great Sedona Hikes hiking guide available HERE.

Summary: A hike up to a beautiful mesa, then on to an overlook with red rock views all around

Challenge Level:  Moderate

Hiking Distance:  From the parking lot to the edge of Brins Mesa you'll hike 1.5 miles. If you hike to the scenic overlook, you'll hike another 0.7 mile, for a total round trip of about 4.4 miles

Trailhead Location:  The parking area is located north of the Jordan Park Subdivision.

Description:  In January 2009, we hiked Brins Mesa. The land is recovering from the 2006 fire very nicely. When we reached the mesa after climbing up 550 feet, we followed the right trail about 0.7 mile and climbed up on a large rock formation for a scenic view of Mormon Canyon to the east and red rock views all around. It was magnificent! Total elevation gain from the parking lot to the scenic overlook is about 1000 feet.
