Summary: A hike up a slot between Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte with spectacular views
Challenge Level: Moderate
Hiking Distance: About 4.3 miles round trip
Trailhead Directions: From the "Y" (the intersection of State Route 89A and State Route 179) proceed south on SR 179 for about 5 1/2 miles. You'll see a "Scenic View" sign on your left, just north of Bell Rock (the Courthouse Vista). Continue on SR 179 another 3/4 mile or so, you'll see another parking area on your left, south of Bell Rock (Bell Rock Vista). Turn left into the parking area.
Description: From the parking area, follow the Bell Rock Pathway Trail north for about 1/2 mile until you intersect the Courthouse Butte Loop Trail. Turn right and follow the Courthouse Butte Loop Trail for 0.3 mile. Make a left on to an unmarked trail and follow it for 0.6 mile between Bell Rock and Courthouse Butte until you intersect the north side of the Courthouse Butte Loop Trail. Turn left to circle back around Bell Rock or turn right to circle around Courthouse Butte and back to the parking area.
