Summary: An easy hike along the side of a mountain with great views of Cathedral Rock and Sedona's Pyramid
Challenge Level: Easy
Hiking Distance: About 4.5 miles in-out from the Schuerman Mountain Trail parking area
Trailhead Directions: From the "Y" (the intersection of State Route 89A and State Route 179) go west on SR 89A for 4 1/4 miles to the Upper Red Rock Loop Road. Turn left and the Sedona High School is on your right. Turn right at the third driveway (it's behind the school) and look on your left for the sign to the unpaved trailhead parking area. This is the parking area for the Schuerman Mountain Trail.
Description: Begin to hike the Schuerman Mountain Trail and in 500 feet make a left at the fork in the trail. You'll be hiking south along the side of Schuerman Mountain with wonderful views of Cathedral Rock, the Two Nuns and the Pyramid. The trail is narrow in spots and there is loose rock so watch your footing. You'll come to a saddle to the west of Sedona's pyramid after 1.5 miles. Take time to explore the Pyramid to the left and another unnamed peak to the right. Both offer excellent views but both require a bit of scrambling to reach their peak.
