GREAT SEDONA HIKES

Special Sedona Photos

Here's a number of very special photos taken by members of our hiking group on their travels around Sedona, Arizona. It shows the wide interests and talents of our hiking group

The Cure for High Land Values in Sedona

There has been a lot of talk about the high cost of land in the Sedona area. Affordable housing is hard to find. But if we permitted building on some of the higher rocks, the flood of extra building lots would bring down the cost of land in Sedona. D.B.

Not a Fish Tale

Last week three of us went down to Oak Creek for some trout fishing. We were using 10 pound test line and artificial flies for bait. After an hour or so with no action, Big D said "let's try some different bait" and attached a piece of candy (a Farley's candy orange slice, I believe) to his hook. 30 seconds later this giant fish took the bait and we began to reel him in. It took 3 hours for the three of us to land this monster. We frankly didn't believe that a fish so large could be caught in Oak Creek. But here's the proof. Pictures don't lie. B.B.

Saucer Spotted Over Bell Rock!

Bell Rock is one of the main vortex energy sites in the Sedona area. As a result, it is visited regularly by our out-of-town visitors. Here's a photo of visitors driving their hybrid vehicle. It is rumored to have a warp-electric powertrain, with a range of 900 billion light-years. I wonder if they use regular or premium fuel??? M.H.

Big Game Hunter Wears Out

On our recent hike to Lost Canyon, one of our hikers decided to combine our hike with a hunt. The hike was pretty strenous for everyone, especially for our hunter who had to carry the heavy rifle. We left him along the trail to catch some rest and when we returned, we snapped this photo. There won't be any venison jerky this winter..... L.C.

What We Could Be

(Now) The city of Sedona and Coconino and Yavapai Counties have very strict ordinances regarding "dark skies." But what if we had no such ordinances?

Just imagine the wonderful nighttime sights we could all enjoy! (Future)  D.B.

Sedona Airport Expands!

We hear that plans are to build a control tower at the Sedona Airport, which would allow increased jet service.  How exciting it would be to hear that throaty roar and smell that jet fuel!  Imagine the fun of sitting on top of Doe Mountain, watching those jets vectoring in for a landing on Airport Mesa! D.B.
