Cathedral Rock Trail

Summary:   A steep hike to the "saddle" of Cathedral Rock

Challenge Level:   Hard

Hiking Distance:   About 3/4 mile eack way

Trailhead Directions:   Fron the "Y" (the intersection of Highway 179 and Highway 89A), drive South on Highway 179 for 3.2 miles to the Back'O Beyond roundabout. Go West on the Back'O Beyond Road for about 3/4 mile. The parking area is on your left at GPS coordinates 34° 49.510' North; 111° 47.298' West.

Description:   If you want to get up close and personal to Cathedral Rock, this short (1.5 miles round trip), hard hike is for you. When you reach the Baldwin Trail, turn right and go 60 paces to the beginning of the Cathedral Rock Trail. The trail up is very steep -- good hiking boots required! They say there is a vortex at the top.
